最近在家看BBC所拍的Pride and Prejudice傲慢與偏見(DVD),很精緻的電視小品, 共36小集, 每集約10分鐘, 劇中Mr. Darcy的Pemberly莊園及建築真的是美的令人屏息。

在小說文本中是這樣描述Pemberly的:

"It was a large, handsome, stone building, standing well on the rising ground, and backed by a ridge of high woody hills;--and in front, a stream of some natural importance was swelled into greater but without any artificial appearance. Its banks were neither formal nor falsely adorned."

『它是一棟巨大漂亮的石砌建築,，在高聳的地面上直直的矗立著， 後方是森林小丘的山脊，前面是一條正在漲潮的小溪， 如此地自然，一點都沒有人工的痕跡，小溪的河岸點綴既不單調也不做作。』
